Definition and Use-case
They are verbs with a prefix (Präfix) that when combined with verb produce a different meaning.
- stehen stand, aufstehen to get up
- gehen go, losgehen to set off
Trennbare Verben can have both be both regular as well as irregular
Conjugation
- Only the verb takes the conjugation.
- In presence of Modalverb, the Trennbare Verb remains as an infinitve.
